Shengottai Avudai Akkal – The Great Vedantin

Very little was known about her except the areas around Sengottai in TamilNadu, until the her songs were published by an Indian Historian very recently.

She was a disciple and contemporary of Sri Sridhara Ayyaval of Tiruvisainallur and was always immerse Bhava Samadhi. Her songs have been published in Tamil by Sri Gnananda Niketan (Tapovanam) in TamilNadu. There is also an English version by Ms.Kanchana – Transgressing Boundaries: The Songs of Shenkottai Avudai Akkal by Zubaan publishers.
