Khajuraho of Chattisgarh – Bhoramdeo Temple
Located among the Maikal mountain ranges, this serene temple is said to have been built between the 8th to 11th century.
The temple is said to have been built during the reign of The Naga dynasty under King Ramchandra.
Main Deity – This temple is dedicated to lord Shiva. Lord Shiva is seen here in Shivaling form which is hand carved. Besides, Lord Vishnu and his avtaars, Lord Ganesha, Uma-Maheswar, Narsimha, Vaman, Natraj, Krishna, Kaal Bhairava, Suryaare seen too.
Architecture – The entire temple is a stone structure situated in between lush forests. It is highly decorated with intricate carvings and sculptures depicting intimate postures. The carving and sculpting is similar to the Khajuraho temples. The entrance to the temple has the images of Ganga and Yamuna carved on the doors.
The main temple can be broadly divided into two parts. The main Mandapam has a high podium on which the Shivling sits. The lord is east facing. The main mandapam has high roofs and four pillars at its center.
Most of the architecture, especially the Shikhara (crowning) follows the Odisha mode of architecture. The outer precinct has gardens decorated with bamboo, Arjun and Gulmohar trees.
This temple is a must visit for people interested in sculpture, fine arts and archeology.
Bhoramdeo Mahotsav is celebrated each year in the last week of the month of March. This is the best time to visit the temple.

How to Reach –
By Road – The temple is located about 21 kilometres from Kawardha and is on the banks of river Sakri. It is situated to the north of Raipur and good transportation facilities are available. National highways 6,16 and 43 connect all major Indian cities.
By Rail – Raipur and Bilaspur are the nearby railway stations.
By Air – Raipur domestic Airport
