Karanodai is located on Chennai-Kolkatta National Highway. 7 Kms from Karanodai is the village of Erumaivetti palayam. There are two ancient temples here – one to Lord Ram located on top of a hill and one to Lord Shiva.

As in Bhadrachalam Ram temple, here the Lord can been with Goddess Seetha seated on his lap. The entire Vigraha is made of Salagrama Shila. We can see evidences of this temple been a huge one with 7 prakaras in the past. Devotees who are not able to visit Bhadrachalam in Andhra can offer their prarthana here.

Siva Temple

The Siva temple is 1000 years old. The Lord here is Sri Varamukteeshwarar and Ambaal is Sri Kamakshi. For getting married, devotees visit this temple for 12 Fridays and light ghee lamp. One every Tamil new year, the rays of the sun fall on the Shiva Linga. Limited pujas are happening in this temple.
